Hayabusa Westfield advice if any
John Davis - 17/10/04 at 06:02 PM

Hello I hope you maybe able to advice me how a Westfield bussa should drive.
I took one out to day and it seemed very clonky and bumpy not a very nice ride at all compared to my MK Indy blade, it has 13 minilites and Nitron shocks, it was built by him self and I dont know if it is set up for track or not.
More of a concern is how clonky the box seems and it just generally does not feel a tight car.
Are all bussa engine cars as clonky and thru the box and bumpy.
It has a reverse box and he said it may have somthing to do with that.
If any one knows how to set the suspension up and advise on the box it will be welcomed
I was going to do a deal with my MK but was put off by the way the car drove.
cheers John

john..

the clonky stuff is almost certainly the rev box .. ie .. multiplying the slack in the dogs from the engine...
i am going for the 2 piece bailey morris prop set up with a centre bearing and trt front prop...
this should dial out most of that ruff feel..

cheers

Ive driven a Westie busa (also with Nitrons and 13" wheels) and its fine. As Dave says the clonkiness is almost certainly to do with the reverse box (the one Ive driven doesnt have one). If he's spent money on Nitrons then Id hazard a guess that its more set up for track than road, so softer springs might sort it out in the bumpiness stakes.
