I'm nearing the end of my megablade ZZR1400 conversation, and I'm having clearance problems between the V8 bonnet and air filter. I reckon I need 50-75mm more height on the scoop to give sufficient clearance in order to eradicate fretting and restrict airflow. I don't want to simply cut a hole in the bonnet, I'd ideally like to keep it looking as close to standard looking as possible. Has anyone came across the same issue, or know of any way which I can extend the bonnet without it looking like something out of mad max.
If you look through Roscos haynes build on here he made up a new bracket to repostion the top set of injectors, then used a open foam filter.
My bonnet was flat, injectors running upside down stubby manifold with maybe 20 degree bend in it.
Do you have any pics?
In my archive
plenum 1
Not sure how that would effect performance (torque etc) with NA??
I,m sure you could do something neater, my tb's are mismatched to the engine.
I expect you will lose less than a strangling airbox .
