how about a good looking recon fzr1000 inc bits and bobs for £450 ?

all of them are good

personally i'd go for the cbr900, well proven, and plenty of spares around.

Avoid blackbird - without a dry sump it's just too risky. Inless you have no intention of tracking it.

any reason why r1 isnt on your list?

Carbed R1, with baffle.

Forget the Blackbird, see some old posts, that'll change your mind.

From your short list, I'd go for the ZX9. Generally cheaper than the others with stacks of power.

It really depends on your budget but you'd be daft not to consider the R1.

Thanx for the reply's....will add the R1 to my list. Must do some more research on the specs.

The R1 is one of the few high-end engines that gets away without a dry-sump. That's a really big deal because a dry-sump adds about 1500BP to the expense.

Why not go for (old) ZX10, an easy derestriction for 137bhp & dirt cheap (stick with the standard airbox & replace the starter chain b4 fitting, or go for the ZZR1100 for another 10bhp & a little more torque.
