Sorry, just needed to share that.

2 years of sitting still and after fiddling with the carb floats, it fired up 1st time and idled nicely.

Rev it and what a beast.

Many thanks to Andrew Carwithen and Calvinx for pointing me in the right direction.

Been a long time coming!

Thanks to Chris Gamlin as well for supplying an engine that doesn't need anything doing to it.

No where's that bloody V5 and V627/1.

Phew, so I can spend that money now and not worry about a refund can I?

Glad to hear its all running well, how long before the car moves under its own steam?

Only got the paddles and rods to bolt up and finding a way of connecting the clutch cable (mountain bike brake cable) to the MK pedal and then I can go up my drive!

Off to france in 4 days though!

Mk2 Escort clutch cable is what Westfield supply for the Megablade, might be worth investigating at a local factors to see if you can make one fit your pedal box.

Congrats, Pat,
Great feeling innit!!
mine fired up a few weeks back. Though I've removed manifold again whilst I fit the notorious Avon bodywork.
