ZX9 speedo error calculation
MK9R - 14/1/04 at 10:47 AM

I am using a 3.62 diff and 195-50-15 tyres and just wanted to know what sort of error i would be getting when using the zx9 clocks, so i have been doing some maths:-

If i used the 4 pick up lugs on the drive flange (as per the bike) i would get a
+35.2% reading.

I have actually fitted 3 lugs rather than 4 to reduce the error, this gives me a +13.6% reading

NB. All calculations assume that the guages are 100% accurate (which they obviously are not).

Just to check, is this error OK for SVA??

As i am making new dial faces i may increase the spacing of the scale by 13% to make up for this.

Ive been looking at this, but the bit I dont know is what the original revs of the front sprocket to the distance traveled by the bike, because that must be built into the electronics somewhere.
Ive got a gearing spreadsheat for a BEC if you want it.
