I have come back to trying to finish the locost after a few years(!). There were more Ford Sierras in those days, I can't see any in the paper
now. Anyway, I have a short list, and would really appreciate any comments on these - especially if any are complete no's. I can't found out
some basic information on some of them (like FWD/RWD), so any comments would be great:
vauxhall corsa 1.2l 1995
rover 75 2.5l 2001
nissan micra 1.0l 1994
rover 200 1.6l 1993
citroen xantia 1.8l 1996
renault clio 1.1l 1995
peugeot 306 1.8l 1998
nissan primera 2.0l 1998
peugeot 406 1.8l 1998
fiat punto 60 1.2l 1998
All FWD and useless for everything except the engine pretty much.

Not looking good Sorry
Very few current rwd cars about at reasonable money.. if i were looking at the moment it would be BMW shaped!
Or, poss Vaux Omega, Celica or MX5
Or XJ40
There are bicycles that are more suitable donors than that list!
How on earth did you come up with it?
I spose the 1.6 Rover is a k-series? Might be able to use the engine (only) from that.
The primera would be a Great donor as it uses the sr20de engine, a 200sx gearbox/bell housing makes it RWD. 150 bhp as standard, alloy, easy to tune.
For cheap RWD your best options are Omegas, Scorpios (All ways alot going cheap) and asorted Mercs and Bmws.
If you know what your doing I reckon a Scorpio could be a good bet as its a ford, though I don't know what I'm talking about, only that
they're cheap and RWD.
Rover 75?
NO...
MG ZTT 260, nice v8 and rwd
where abouts are you...
might be able to help with a sierra donor.
Are you THE Damon Hill?

Ok, I see that the list is rubbish. But! I have found a Mercedes E-class v6 elegance. Wiki says this is front engine/rwd? Although i'm a bit worried about the size of the v6 engine, and whether it will fit the locost.
Better look out for a BMW E36/46
(the fleetowner's succesor to the Cortina/Sierra)
The Daihatsu Terios might be interesting too.
