Just to verify any confusion,I've measured inside edge to inside edge of the wheels on the back axle on the 2L capri and it is 49" and will fit a plus four inch width chassis.
Its got standard capri wheels on.
Although looking at the diff it looks alot bigger than an escort diff so tunnel mods may be iminent.
Its just somewhere I read that a capri axle was supposed to be only 2" wider than an escort axle.

iv got a 1600 cap axle in mine i didnt alter anything from the book it went straight in, it looks better as it fills the wheel archs out more, i also used the dash, s/column, all the brakes, servo ect, pedals, wiring, they all fit to book chassis

I was under the impression that the Capri axle was 2" wider than the Escort, and the Cortina was 4" wider. Don't trust me 'cos I can't remember where I read it........
