I have a Ron Champion Chassis and am considering a BMW 318Ti donor do you think it will cause major problems or should I stick to my original plan of the twin cam MX5 MK1?

I'm putting a 2.8 BMW engine in my Viento and they are quite tall - it only just fits under the bonnet - not sure about the height of the 1.8's though.

Also, on the larger BMW engines, the bulge on the side of the sump fouls the lower chassis rail.
The attached picture shows the sump modification that I had to make to clear the chassis.
