Hi to everybody.
Having skipped the divorce stage by buying a completed car, I am now feeling guilty that I didn't build a car. With the wonder of ebay I now have
a book chassis, with escort mkII axle, gear box, rack, and cortina uprights. I have the opportunity of a Sierra with DOHV free of charge. In true
locost style should I use the DOHV for free. I need the parts from the Sierra to give me an age related registration. Is the book chassis suited to
the sierra running gear?
Anyones thoughs would be welcome.
Thanks

no reason not to use the dohc if keeping in the true locost spirit as it'd be effectively free with the donor but a lot of people dislike the
engine for various reasons - height, weight, lack of tuning goodies etc etc. plenty of info if you do a search to help you come to your own
decision.
Ned.
Build with the DOHC get it SVA'd and registered then swap the engine or keep it if it works for you! keeping enough points for age related
registration probably mens keeping the engine to start with :-) If you really want to change get the "new" engine "fitted" to the
donor and on the V5 you may just be able to get age related plate.
