Hi all,
Over the winter, swmbo and I are going to be refurbishing the Pinto engine, (hopefully) in advance of us getting a kit next year.
(Enter Stage Right - 20 people telling me to build a bec....)
This is going to be as much a learning exercise as it is making sure that the whole thing doesn't fall apart first time it goes on the
track.....
The Pinto I have is a 205 block, which I'm going to strip and see if it needs anything doing (honing, etc). I've had a read of the Des
Hammill book, and have enlisted the help of swmbo's dad, who used to rally Escorts and Minis back in the day...
(he's builing a Spire GT-R at the moment, with a Blackbird engine in - Ron's Blackbird GTR
site)
Ok, to the question... I've been picking up bits to help in this, an alloy sump, etc., and I was wondering if the standard RS2000 Alloy
bellhousing will fit a type 9 gearbox, or if it needs to be modified at all.....
TIA guys,
Vince
RS2000 alloy bellhousing fits type 9 no problem
You may need the clutch lever to go with it and maybe a different clutch cable.
The RS2000 alloy sump is ideal for use with this as the alloy bell housing bolts to it

Mark
Excellent, thanks Mark.
RS2000 sump is already awaiting a clean-up, and there's a couple of housings on flea-bay I have my eye on.....
Cheers
