Off topic - Ford radio

A bit off topic, I know, but someone here may have had this problem before.
I have aquired a Granada as a donor for a few bits for my Lowcost project, and it has a fairly good Ford radio in it - better than the one in my every day car, but I do not have the code for it. The radio is branded Ford 2000, and has a label saying Ford dealer 260 045. I know I can have the radio decoded at some expense, but does anyone know if the code can be obtained from Ford? I have the V5 for the car.

I believe Ford can give you the code that was originally assigned to the radio in the factory. Of course, this is no good if the radio has been changed which, if it's a half decent one, is probably the case.

Plenty of places can re-code radios - there is a place local to me who charges £12 for this. Also seen an ad at my local scrappies for people offering this service, alternatively, look in the back of your local auto trader, certain to be someone advertising in there.
