Jaguar XJ40 Hub Carrier
paulmw - 29/10/07 at 09:23 AM

A colleague at work is building a Dax Cobra. He is struggling to remove the drive shafts from the rear hub carrier.

Has anyone got any advice or point me to some-one who is building something similar

Cheers Paul

Tell him to stop being so tight fisted and buy a haynes manual!

I said that I'd lend him my sledge hammer

I got my hubs off saturday while i was stripping the axle and i couldnt see hot to remove the driveshafts and the haynes manual is F-ing useless.

So how did you remove them in the end?

I bought the Haynes Manual. Not a huge amount of use though.
I removed the locking nuts, discs, calipers etc on both sides.
One side came apart fairly easily, the other is stuck fast with no visable means of support.

I think it might be time for the universal tool.
