Well after a lot of searching I have got me a 1.8 glx sierra H reg for £120.00 I will be stripping it over the next few days or so. I shall have all the usual stuff to remove, so if any of you know anyone wanting any of the other stuff from the car and they are in the York area they can help themselves.
I'll kep you posted on how stuff goes.

Thanks for the heads up Paul I really do appreciate it. Thanks as well to Kev and jimhammer for the u2u's sad to say these guys are at opposing ends of the country to me (not wishing to sound ungrateful, which I arent) if no one comes up a bit more local within a couple of days I'll be in touch Jim and Kev. Ive got a chopped sump going spare Kev its off a Pinto tho so I dont know if it will fit your engine.

Got it home, now the work starts!

It right that the distributor that it is fitted with can be got rid of and a fwd cvh one can be fitted in the end of the head on the end of the camshaft?? if so will the 1.6 one do the job?? I am just full of questions
