Ribs coming along nicely.
sgraber - 6/6/04 at 03:36 AM

I was posting some stuff over in the Bodywork section, but my true allegiance is to the middy section, so here is a photo of what the Grab-ster has been up to in the garage this weekend. It was 107f today, in the shade. The tools were almost too hot to pick up! Lol

Alan B - 6/6/04 at 03:24 PM

Later today Steve.

I'm trimming and cleaning it right now...

Note the anti-gusting single post.

And my blatantly gusting response.....

Cheers ...

Hey Steve, after all that trouble of rib forming why not just make the body out of aluminum?
You have the perfect buck for it now!

Ummm, 'cause I don't want to have to wait another 3 years to drive it?!

Hey Steve,

I reckon you and Alan should hire a film crew and get your builds documented properly.

Should be a lot more interesting and educational than "American Hotrod".
This is the only nearly interesting car build program on the screen at the moment.

Terry

Alan B - 9/6/04 at 01:45 PM

Terry, I agree.

At least it would show regular guys actually "doing" stuff, rather than writing cheques or sub-contracting half of it....

We would need to work on the drama/soap opera element of it though...

Any ideas Steve?......

kb58 - 9/6/04 at 02:12 PM

Drama? Depends what your wives look like...

sgraber - 9/6/04 at 03:47 PM

A show? Based on two guys from across the USA building their cars independently from each other, alone in their respective garages. But the cars are still similar. They both finish these cars under strict budget and and at long last have a performance showdown in Texas, "OUTLAW" style! YEEEEHAWWWW!

Of course there are lots of really hot race chicks who slather all over the protagonists. There IS an element of 'risky business" with the girls (there's your drama) and the winner gets the main girl and they drive off at sunset, victorious towards the local Super8 motel.

Super8 motels would of course be a main sponsor...

So.... Whadaya think?

Alan B - 9/6/04 at 03:52 PM

Work for me Steve...

The chick element does it for me.....

Now there's a surprise...

sgraber - 9/6/04 at 03:54 PM

My wife suggests that the show should instead be about Alan and I disguising the fact that we are really gay lovers who met in San Francisco severals years back. And the only way we can maintain our long distance relationship is to fake that we like cars.

I personally don't like that idea....

Alan B - 9/6/04 at 03:57 PM

Steve...I thought we were keeping that under wraps.......

Shit, did I just say that out aloud....

Yes agreed....bad idea....

sgraber - 9/6/04 at 04:01 PM

(gustering)

robinbastd - 9/6/04 at 09:40 PM

Steve,Shave off the goatee and put a little more effort into growing a droopy moustache and we might believe the rumours!!

Ian

sgraber - 9/6/04 at 09:54 PM

Rumours? Who said anything about rumours? I dig chicks and they dig me...

G.
