Nice, but am I reading this right?
2.8L, 375 naturally aspirated horsepower at 10K rpm
LOL...2 busa's joined at the hip, OUCH, if anything could convert me to bike power that would be it
Cheers

That has to be the most compact V8 ever - and using the relatively cheap MTX75 too Stunning stuff!
Powertec Link
...and it's already in use in a grasser.
My next project will be similar to the atom design.
I aim to have a round tube chassis, rear engined R1, with minimal panels.
It was the panels that took me so long on the F1-2.
I am hoping for a weight of around 400kg and 0-60 times of under 4 seconds.
A V8 would be better, but at £17K it is a bit out of my price range (and probably not road friendly!)
Just found out on Here that ariel are now selling "build your own atoms"
Just registered and it is just a configuration selector for a factory build car...............what a let down

Can't be sure where I read it but I am fairly sure that it was the amount quoted on another site.
$45k will cost you £23.59k. I suppose some of that will be modifications not just the engine though.

that engine is comming from a guy I know called Brammo.... you should see the V12 he has as well... 800bhp NA let alone the twin turbo version.
He makes the Ariel in the States which is I guess why he's trying to fitting his V8.
Awsome stuff
i have a copy of the powertec pricelist, it makes scary reading!
lets see if i can attach this... obviously not! Anyone know how to attach a pdf file?!

£23K for an engine that won't last 30+ hours! Whilst I'm sure it would be some of the best fun this side of class
A's and sex, I'd rather just have the £23k and lots of sex!
PS, Not that I know anything about class A, but I know a man who does.
Engines built for racing rarely have any warrantee at all. 30 Hours between rebuilds at racing rpm isn't as bad as it sounds, think how often
the F1 boys rebuild in engine hours.
If it's competative in some class of rich boy racing it's probably 'worth' the money. Makes a nice noise (there are some
mp3's on the powertech site).
I appreciate it is really a race engine, but for that much money I'd expect a little more than that.
At least 50 hours!
They end up in so many different things...
Andy Horn (i think) has one in his Metro 6R4. With the capacity restrictions and the price of rebuilds (and wait) for V64V's he thought it was a
better option.
The MSA said nope, you cant have that it doesn't come in a production road vehicle. To which he produced documents from radical say its an option
in one of their road cars. Production engine agreed (eventually) and now used in competition.
their quite a piece of work when you see them. Their cheap when compared to bespoke race engines, but not as good in a lot of areas. Id imagine its
only competitive in a radical class. Its also one of the reasons it didn't get used in the radical le man car. Rollcentre wanted a better
(Stressed) engine.

I have an aversion to typing radical correctly

Go on then....I'll ask.....what are class 'A's?

Class A Drugs
Heroin, methadone, cocaine, Ecstasy, LSD, amphetamines (if prepared for injection) and magic mushrooms prepared for use are all Class A drugs under
the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. A conviction for possession can lead to a maximum of seven years in prison and a fine. Conviction for supply or intent
to supply can lead to life imprisonment and a fine.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/crime/drugs/classifications.shtml
Hard drug classifications in the UK.
Class A
Heroin, crack cocain, LSD etc. Generally habit forming / addictive drugs, although LSD get in this group as well. A thowback to the 60's i
think.
Guesssing the states have a different categorisation.
Thanks for the info.
I must admit I'm not very streetwise or wordly when it comes to drugs...never had any exposure nor really know anyone who has......
Shouldn't they add anything with more than a passing resemblance to a Lotus Seven to that list

Listen to the sound of it... talk about got wood..
The question isn't do you need one. Nobody really 'needs' one.... But do you want one? I definitely WANT one of those engines! OMG.
Want it more than an Italian Supermodel! I would only last a couple of minutes with the supermodel (seconds?), but if the engine lasts for 50 hours
then I have achieved so much more wood....

I've seen a V8 2.0L from Roush, coupled with a supercharger pushes 500+bhp. It uses twin XUP heads with five valves per cylinder. It only weighs 70 odd kilo's! The N/A version is 320bhp I think?
