Just a quickie to say if any of you haven't read it yet, get in the mk section and look at the popquiz thread, first pic of the new mid engined mk, with apparantly an inline zetec engine.

Yeah, that's very cool. What transaxle is that out of? Anyone?

And why do you brits get all the cool lightweight 'kit' cars?

Steve,

That "superlightweight" body is very top secret.

Ah, but atleast all your American made donors seems to have a minimum 5litre V8 in them!

Oh yes, the 1950's pushrod design that is so ubiquitous. Actually, nothing against them pushrods, it works, works well, is inexpensive to build and maintain... It's just so - heavy. I personally gravitate (pun intended) towards the lightweight high revving end of the scale. The pinnacle being ZX11 or Hayabusa power in a 7 or a middy (of my own design!)

Just different philosophies towards the same end I suppose. Just seems that the majority of Americans building kit cars like the heavy, torquey, low revving lumps.

I agree with all that Steve, but I also feel there is big, and increasing following of the smaller high reving 4 cylinder engines too.....import tuning crowd for example....

I feel we are going the right way...

Ok, I'll edit my previous post to say the "Current" majority of US kit car builders. ... ... and in the same breath completely agree with you that the the untapped lightweight high-rev tuner market is vast and awesome. That new group of builders is looking for exactly the type of car you are building Alan. And hopefully mine too!
