Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is a Luego owners club.
I am seriously considering putting my hard earned cash into one of there velocity xt's and would really like to hear about anyones
experience's dealing with the company and building there cars.
Has anyone here used the toyota 4age engine in one yet?
Thanks
Gary
Hi, not building a Luego, but using the velocity body work. Its top quality, and the people seem nice to deal with. Even sent me a letter inviting me to there stand at a show, but couldnt make it unfortunately. Dont think you can go far wrong with them tho.
I'm building one, and I'm pleased with it so far,
but I haven't built a kit by anyone else, so I can't
really compare! The guys at luego have always
been friendly and helpful when I have dealt with
them.
I believe luego are starting or have started an
owners club.
I am planning to put a 4AGE in there, but haven't
got there yet. There are a few others on this
board putting a 4age into a leugo.
Its also worth looking at:

Hope this helps,
Tim
I'm building a Luego Locost, about 60% done now. Started with power coated chassis, full GRP and aluminium panel set, and suspension parts. Its
all gone together very well & quality is very good.
Grant & Matt are always available to answer technical queries and nothing is to much trouble.
You will love the XT !!, drove it at the launch last October at RAF Wittering; fantastic.
Owners club still in the pipeline I believe.
Eric
Thanks for the help every one.
I think you have all confirmed my suspicions, that it is the correct decision.
A definite advantage is that they are not too far away from me, if i need to visit and discuss in person.
Was choosing the colour of your body work difficult?! (sooo much choice).
They have been a great help to me too, especially with the support they give to the website and are always able to answer my stupid questions on the
phone!
Findlay is fitting a 4AGE to his Velocity IIRC but he's just finished his exams so I think he's on holiday atm. Might be worth dropping him
a line in a couple of weeks.
Finally, why not sort yourself out some insurance and test drive the cars? Be warned tho, once you've driven the Viento you will realise
it's the only choice!
Chris
Thanks Chris
Think i am gonna pay them a visit this coming Saturday. Better take my credit card with me!
Cheers
Gary
Chris, you TART!
nothing detrogatory to say about luego, been impressed with the kit they've had on display at various shows, though they haven't always
worked out the cheapest when i've ben trying to source various parts. they're local to you and it sounds like you've made your mind up
anyway. good luck!
Ned.
hi there, im putting a 4age into my velocity. getting to the stage where the engine will be fitted permenantly (as soon as i sort the clutch out). im
using the locost bodywork tho cuz i prefer that lower body line to the velocity. Im away for two weeks now with the TA but hope to get the car rolling
under its own power by the 20th of july. HA yeah right....... hopes and dreams...
btw Gary (gazza) is also putting a 4age into his.
cheers fin.
P.S havent had any trouble with the luego parts and any questions ive had matt and grant are more than happy to help. my problems have arisen from
other manufacturers items like the engine mounts from RAW.
I had a good look at the Velocity at the show, and when I get to build another next year this is the probable choice. There will aso be full weather
gear coming later this year.
My only comment as Ned says is that some of the parts on their stand did look rather expensive for what they were, but the kit prices seem very
reasonable and good quality.
i completely agree that the luego parts are not the cheapest, so sometimes through my build ive tried to source bits elswhere, taken weeks doing it, saved a couple of pounds then realised for all the time id wasted i should have just bitten the bullet and bought from them. to save on p&p costs i could recomend what you need to buy from luego when you buy your chassis and body. The luego parts always works as well, while stuff ive had from other suppliers might not from time to time.
Hello
I'm building a Luego Velocity (slowly). My experience of Luego has been wholly positive, excellent parts, helpful on the phone, etc. all the
good stuff everyone else has said already.
I'd definately buy from them if I were doing it again.
Eddie
Again, thanks guys.
Luego here we come!
A bit premature but i have the option of several 4age lumps. Not sure what the implications of going for later versions are re: emissions etc. have
been offered a deal on 16v (supercharged or non) or 20v. My neighbour at work has all in stock and he owes me a favour!
Cheers
Gary
Oi Oi
I'm just getting my bits together for a 4 AGE 16v powered Velocity (black & red top), so if you want to compare notes give me shout as
I'm only just down to road in Colchester! I aim to purchase the kit in September - just got to finish off a spot of DIY building work first!!
Cheers
Rich
Rich,
Will defo catch up with you at some stage. Was in Colchester today, working.
Picking my chassis and bits up on 7th August, so will have a slight head start!
Have you gotta build the garage first, is that the spot of DIY?!
Cheers
Gary
Got sent this in an email by Luego a few weeks ago http://www.club-luego.org
Just started up.
Gary
You lucky Bleeder, so you'll have some reasons to be cheerful before me then.
As for the Garage, no already got one of those although I can't get it as it's full of Cr**p. But it's a Utility room I building -
got to keep her in doors happy! At least it will get the Freezer and tumble dryer out of my way!!
Have you got your engine yet? I got mine off e bay. The guy also has done me a wiring loom which retains the original ECU etc. Let me know if you
are interested in one too.
Cheers
Rich
PS I work in Stowmarket, so not far from you.
rca.smith@ntlworld.com
Rich,
Yep, got an engine, a shiny silver top 20v, sitting at work waiting for me.
I had spoken to Mel at RAW and was considering the OMEX engine management route, because i have little knowledge of engine looms etc. But would be
willing to consider anything cheaper!? (And it can't be any more expensive!)
So thats two of us that work in Stowmarket then! I am on Tomo Industrial Estate.
Cheers
Gary
Gary
I work for Bosch and that's just around the corner. Suggest we continue this thread off line!? Don't want to bore everyone else talking
about the merits of Stowmarket - not that I've found any yet seeing as I'm an Essex boy! Well when I say boy....
I won't ask how much you paid for your engine, I think I paid well over the odd's for mine.
Send me your e mail address. Mines rca.smith@ntlworld.com
Fancy a beer after work or at lunch time in the Oak?
Cheers
Rich
Luego have an offer on at the moment, just for August,
Basically all the running bits and bodywork to get a rolling chassis going (except donor car bits) and free powder coating, roll bar, and pedal
box.
I am thinking of a Viento as I am a Bat Fastard, and my son is 6' 4".
Nice people, I paid a visit last week, after they wrote to me (I phoned for a brochure / info).
I liked their quality... even if they are a bit more expensive.. Its only money .
I think I will order later this month. But I need to finish off the Locost that I already have. BTW... I'm a glutton for punishment. Please....
No Jokes about S&M, as I understand this is a nice clean forum.
Regards
Geoff
I can't find a thing on their site.
Do your have more details? Like what is included and for how much?
thanks,
Joćo Caldeira
I'm gonna go for the offer too, got a letter a couple of weeks ago, just trying to twist the banks arm !!!
