Just saying hello
Phineas - 29/7/12 at 05:46 PM

Hello people, the name's Scott (Edinburgh)

Thought i'd introduce myself (been lurking for a while!)

Bought a Luego Viento a couple of years ago...finally got it all working as I wanted (Overheating!)

It is an old Rover V8 though, so pretty much expected from what i've read.

Got a couple of nice pictures down at Longniddry Bents recently...

The photos are on Flickr here http://www.flickr.com/photos/78383049@N02/

Just wanted to thank everyone, this website's a fountain of knowledge

However. the real reason for posting...

I have a "clicking noise" coming from the rear underside somewhere now

I've uploaded a video to Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDSAeijpIfw

I don't even know what the blue topped thing is!

Any ideas peeps ?

That's the fuel pump, it will click slowly like that at idle, much faster when running.

If it has suddenly got louder this usually happens because:

- low on fuel
- Fuel filter bocked
- Vacumn in tank

The pump will have it's own filter, I suspect it has always sounded like this, you have just noticed it that is all.

Looks very clean underneath BTW, puts mine to shame.

Regards Mark

Looks very nice, its clean too.

Thanks for the comments guys, it's so clean because it's only done 2000 dry miles since it was built in 2006!

Mark, I thought it was the fuel pump (didn't want to look like an idiot though, so err'd on the side of caution and said nowt)

I'll check the fuel filter, it's probably the original (I have a spare fuel pump actually, got it with the car)

Hopefully the weather up here in Scotland will improve, it doesn't get enough use.

On that subject, can anyone recommend a charger to keep the battery topped up (i.e. a nice cheap Aldi offer or something)

I want to get the car onto a rolling road, get the carb setup properly, and to see how much power/torque it's putting out.

Welcome to the nuthouse, plenty of help on here!

I put a small filter between the tank and the pump,. so the Sh*te does not even get into the pump.

Bigger filter is under the bonnet. "Belt n Braces" job.

Looks good.. Hope we might see you at a show in the future.

An extra filter sounds like a good idea, cheers

As for shows, if the weather holds for tomorrow I will be here...

I know the Viento isn't Italian, but I know a few scooterists who are attending
