Where O where is your best driving roads, form the holy grail's such as Snakes pass ,butter tubs, to you local favourite.
including good destinations on the road ie pub's / cafés / views and then the hazards like sheep in road SPEED CAMERAS!!
and if anyone can recommend me a good local road from myself. i live in dudley west midlands ( near Shropshire )
one of my fav roads is from New Lanark to the M74,.. (a70) - fabulous fun
The otherone that is awesome is the A82,...
Both best driven in the wee small hours, but keep an eye for Deer and Cameras
Sorry nowhere near to the Midlands
Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Oulton Park etc etc etc. No speed cameras, hidden obstacles, cyclists or Sunday drivers.
Haha i knew sum own wood give me that answer
Daan Saath we don't get exciting roads, A roads are too open(boring) and or camera'd, B roads are to tight or being used by grannys or mums driving at 30mph avoiding the rush hour.

The A272, Winchester to Petersfield is a local favourite of mine. Best driven at night these days.
Snake Pass is a great drive, but very rare to get a good run over it.
The road between Queenstown and Fox Glacier in New Zealand South island , pity I was in a camper van and not the toy car
Penrith to Alston over Hartside. (but watch out for the lunatic bikers)
Snakes pass is not the holy grail. Super busy all the time, a few mobile speed cameras in place and limited overtaking places.
Its not what it was 5 years ago.
Has anyone drove on the black mountain pass? Now that looked good on top gear

That looks a nice road in your avatar.. there's a lot of bloody Clios on it though!
You're not too far from me, about an hour or so. There's some brilliant roads up here in north wales
- The A5 from LLangollen - Betws Y Coed
- The 470 mid Wales
- The A483 to south Wales
The best by far though has to be the A543 from denbigh (Part of the Evo triangle)
Wales was one of the reasons i wanted bec 7
and I've just googled the A543, I'm in love. Got to be done soon after winter

Give me a shout when you do, it's 5 mins from my house - I'll come join you
most definitely. Love meeting likeminded people, but 5mins from your house... Mega jealous
And David, now that's what i call an response. Wow
I live in the big smoke so any road where the speed limit is achievable is a bonus
Come to Scotland. Try the Applecross road I guarantee a thrill. Bring your anti midge cream (skin so soft is a favourite).
A3072 from Crediton to Tiverton in deepest Devon. It has every sort of bend and feature you can imagine, in about 6 miles. I need to take my kit down their some day!
Around Cape Town there are just too many to mention - all within a days drive - like - 4 passes through the Boland and Agterberg - Cape Town to Cape
Point round both sides of the Peninsula - Cape Town to Hermanus via Pringle Bay and back via Bot River and Sir Lowries Pass etc etc etc.
For all of the above you really need to hire a Cobra or some cabriolet. Only downside of the open car is that you might end up with a baboon in the
cockpit looking for food if tourists block the road near a troop of baboons. (Don't ask how I know - they get in much faster than you can get
out )
All best done out of season around March to May when traffic is less of a problem and not as many tourists and not so windy.
Once in a lifetime, you need to drive this road.. 90Kms of FUN..
Not on the other side of the world either (Europe)
Linky
Domn I knew I shouldnt have sold the Viento
Geoff
B9007 from Carrbridge to Logie. It's worth the 550 mile drive from my home in Reading just to get to it........
I did this route in a Caterham CSR200 back in 2010 and it was epic. Was a treat for me and the missus for our 10th anniversary. Did it over 3 days and
stayed at the The Albannach (michelin star restaurant with a hotel attached ) for 2 nights. We got
the Caterham from Highland Caterham Hire. Was the most amazing few days in stunning scenery
with stunning roads, the hotel was pretty amazing as well. Decided to do this rather than spend the same amount on a weekend city break abroad and it
was worth every penny. Ultimately it was this that gave me the need to build my own.
Got to be Scotland. No contest really. Spent 7 days 2 summers ago. Experience of a lifetime
