Nice Wheels,..
Did you get wider ones for the rear? or are they all the same size. In which case which size did you go for?.
What tyres, and how much did they cost?.
I am about to do this bit. I like the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's... but they are not cheap
Front - 17 * 7.5 with 205/40 Toyo T1R tyers
Rear _ 17 * 8 with 235/40 Toyo T1R tyres
wanted 17 * 7 for front but this size not available in the CXR - it is in other styles. Will have to play around with the front cycle wings to get
wheel rim inside the edge of the wing.
All from Compomotive -
Offsets calculated by compomotive from the viento diagram on the luego web site.
Cost - a lot less than Image wheels !!!
I have team dynamics wheels which I got from Halfords of all places! They were doing a 20% off wheels and tyres offer so for 4 15" x 7" pro
race 2's in black with kumho tyres I paid £400. In the end I only paid £350 because the order was screwed up by team dynamics and was about 3
weeks late.
see if they still have any offers on at Halfords....
Ditto above ..
Special ordered Pro Race 2's from Halfords with 20 % discount (and a bit more), Paid £375 and got a set of locking wheel nuts thrown in!!
Cheers
Gary

Been hunting about... I am going for:
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2
7x17 on the Front with ET38 offset £80 each
9x17 on the Rear with ET22 offset £100 each
Looking at Yoko A539 tyres:
205/40/17 front £71 each
235/45/17 rear £94 each (cant get 235/40/17 a539's).
or Dunlop Sp9000 for £94 and £97.
Halfords are OK, but can only work with 4x wheels of the same size. Start talking offsets and rim profiles and you have them stumped
It did occur to me to buy TWO sets, ie 4 x 205/17 and 4x 235/17 on rims, and sell off the second set.
Comments anyone... or better deals seen?.
Also anyone got good reports of cheaper tyres. There are plenty of Nankings, Kuhmo, etc etc at cheap prices... but are they any good?
Hi there
I was also looking the dynamics 1.2's, in black, they look very good and are fairly lightweight i beleive, wheeltec in Plymouth reckons a set of
7" for the front and 7.5" for the rears will be about £650 with tyres, how does that sound to you?Colin
Viento needs 9" on the rears ie 235/40(or 45)/17 tyre size. Its in the Luego Doc on the wheel offset.
I also calculate the offset is ET22.5 for the Rears and 38 (Std Ford) on the front.
Namely the front wheels are std sierra size ie 7" (205mm)wide 17" dia and ET38 (offest) - Dead Easy to get hold of.
However, the rears are 9"(235mm) 17" dia and I made the Offset to be ET22.5
From the diagram Luego Wheel Offset Doc
Centreline of the wheel is (235/2) 117.5mm
Therefore the offset for the Rear Wheel is 140mm - 117.5 =22.5mm
For the Front its (Centerline 205/2=102.5)
140mm - 102.5=37.5 ie std Ford Et38 offset.
I have not found many companies doing 9" (235mm) wide wheels. 235/17" tyres are more available. (look for 45 and 40 profile as some tyres
dont come in both profiles).
I have been quoted today Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 at £100 per rear wheel and £80 for the fronts + VAT ie £423 with the Vat. but its plus delivery on
top.
Tyres seem to vary. This is quite a good price as split rim wheels seem one of the other ways to go, and they come out at well.. quite expensive!!.
Anyone else got any other info re tyres / rims at a reasonable price in 17" for a Viento.
PS... Team Dynamics do 9X17 Pro Race1.2 in Offsets ET23 to 40 offset, although this is not shown on many websites.

All you need to convert an ET38 to an ET22.5 is a 15.5mm spacer....
Hmm 15mm spacer means longer studs, and you need a spacer with spigots so it fits in the wheel and hub. Otherwise you can get some movement etc. I
dont want any problems at the rear as I have about 250 BHP to lay down.
I have got a quote of £780 today for 4 x 7.5" x17 wheels two at ET38 and two at Et23 with tyres 235/40/17 and 205/40/17 kuhmo's, with
Wheelnuts and centre caps and delivery. Not the cheapeast, but not bad from a high st dealer. I must admit I would prefer 8" on the rears if I
can get them. Thats for Team Dynamics Pro race 1.2, not cheap but nice wheels.

Dont use longer studs, you bolt the spacers to the hubs and the wheels bolt to the spacers...
I am using them to change my ET35's to ET18's...
And I have 350bhp to play with....
250 bhp... pah... childs play
And in which emporium does one purchase said spacers, and for how many tokens? Do they have a manufacturers name / model?
I have just had an even better Quote this morning. I cant order until Monday as they have just closed. (Shop needs to check and confirm details with
manufacturer etc)
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's with tyres.
Odd sizes, 7" front 8" rears and odd offsets (NO spacers required) for £587:50 inc VAT and Delivery.
If I can succesfully get it ordered it will be a good deal.
This is for Vientos only. (sizes and offsets etc)
I will be confirming it all on Monday evening. I will post up the details if it all comes off.
