Gearbox conversion plate

This should allow me to use an Alfa v6 to a type nine.

(holy grail found)

However, not fitted in the car or tested yet. Still a few points to iron out.

Nice Plate... Where did you get it from?
Or did you make it yourself, If so, did you make any drawings with dimensions on etc?.

Alfa V6 is a good injun

Myself and my brother came up with the idea, and made an initial plate from MDF, bolted it up, checked all the dimensions and measurements and then spoke to a local lad who has all the machinery. He is a retired engineer who has lots of kit and a very sound knowledge of engines /gearboxes (raced and built RX7 cars).
Bolted the lot together yesterday and all seems to work, original hyd clutch (except friction plate).
The bellhousing is from a 164 so it contains catsting for a front diff that had to cut and removed. Unfortunatly this would not allow the bellhousing to enter the tranmission tunnel with out more mods, (pic is of the pretty side ) but as the Viento has a long engine bay, its not a major problem.
Block sit about 170mm from the bulkhead.

I haven't got exact sizes on to a CAD drawing as i have no expierence of CAD.

Dont realy want to make any brave claims until its running and tested but so far so good.
I will post some more pics on my archive.

Dont forget to measure up the plate, the bloke had to make it from something...

Thats a tooooo Useful a plate NOT to measure and draw up... even if its not on CAD.

Looks great to me. Since I'm thinking on a alfa V6 to I would be great to know if it really works wel, and if so, it would be possible to some extra made. (just to avoid me a lot of extra work in case I can not find a gearbox of an Alfa 6 (sei).

good job
