I note from one of the photo's that you appear to have a built up diff now. So what ratio did you finally decide on.????
John has all the pics on his photobucket account im sure he will make them avaliable to you Ian.
Diff still not complete its just the casing still.
We do have the diff unit but notthe crown wheel or pinion as yet struggleing to track a new one down of the required ratio, still planning on the 2.73
we will get it eventually................

nope dont have any not broken a ford for ages run out of bits been too busy doing the kit to worry about anything else.

Sorry Ian i was at work mate and i have only just got in from working on the car now and im sure you have seen them by now.
I was a little shocked myself now the gearbox is lowered and in the right place it actually fitted under the bonnet without much working out. Filling
in the air scoop was a lets see what it looks like idea and its staying now coz we like it lol.
Some thing else has been discussed tonight that may lead to something a little diff for the front end but you will have to wait till we can try it out
before im gonna tell you all about it unless John wants to chime in and say something...................................................
Just had an invite to be on a kit car mags stand at donnington and had to refuse as its not going to be in any fit state to be there which is a shame
but hey ho next year will be worth the wait lol

well guys i been getting loads of bits and bobs over the pond here, ordered the pedal box, gone for a tilton 600,

pinion i was looking for, got 2 sets in fact, been to the dodge dealer and got the pipe for the clutch, but it came with master cylinder and res, the
pipe can't be removed from the master cylinder so i am going to have to use the viper master with the tilton pedal box some how, the clutch pipe
and master even came ready primed with fluid, so i'm hoping i can get it back to the uk ok.
pedal box over here with delivery and the correct 2 master cylinders was around the 330 quid mark, from demon tweeks the same setup with delivery
would have cost me 630 quid, my flight was 317 so the saving has almost paid for the flight, don't you love the prices in america

trust me neil there is more there than it looks very very strong well over engineered lol.
Toe adjustment was one of my stupid ideas along with quick camber adjustment too looking at caster quick adjust for the front now too but thats harder
we got a good write up in the latest complete kit car mag, mark scanned it in and sent it to me in the US, the only bit they got wrong is the front and rear tyre sizes are the wrong way round, other than that, bloody good writeup
I noticed it too and pulled Adam's leg about it - He's a busy lad ya' know!...
Funny that i noticed that too but then hey i also have had chance to read about someone elses luego that has a very nice feture in complete kit

no luego have done nothing since we picked the chassis up that was made by a good mate of ours Scott he is also in charge of all the welding and the
improvements to the chassis as a whole.

well thats the wheels on order, with the exchange rate so good i thought i would get them, 18 x 10 for the rear and 18 x 9 for the front, £230 the
set of 4 including delivery to a container thats bringing them over.now thats cheap!!!!
this is a front, the rear has a bigger dish.

not to much weight been added, just looks alot, was more worried about having a stiff chassis that didn't twist the first time out on a set of slicks
well it looks like the project is on hold for a while, the guy that i thought was a mate who did the welding is trying to charge me £3200 for the job, everyone who has looked at the chassis says its a good job but not worth that money, he was suppose to be doing it for mates rates as well, problem is, i have the chassis back, but him and his mate are keeping the rest of the stuff till i come up with the money, i didn't get a price to start with but you don't think a mate will try and stitch you up, he is saying he said 2k originally but i never heard him, he is also saying i change loads of stuff from his original quote, which i didn't, so until this is resolved project on hold, i have got the engine and box as well, but to replace all the bits they have will cost about 3k, i have given them nearly £1500 already, just got to work out what way to resolve this now.
one of these should sort it out

Hi, the car is looking very good. A fair bit of work has gone into that, however £3k is a high price.
We have just done a beam axle conversion to an IRS for £2k and that had one hell of a lot of work.
Surely as a friend you can talk to him and come to some sort of agreement.

i'm seeing him at the weekend, problem is, i don't have a choice but to pay, but to make sure he don't have a nice xmas at my expence he not getting the money till after xmas, then there is the old saying, " revenge is sweet", it will cost him dear in the long run, i will make sure of that.
tell him you will give him £500 for your stuff back take it or leave it. i bet he will take the money.

I think you are far better in any position that he is.
I would go to the police and state that someone has taken some parts of you and don't want to give them back.
with the proof of ownersship on your name (invoices etc. etc.) it should be easy to prove you are the legal owner of that stuff.
If the stuff is ours go for it!
I would make him ver very clear that there won't be any form of payment
if the stuff isn't giveing back very very soon.

hi guys, thought i'd say hello, still looking for a workshop, missed a lovely one by 24 hours the other day, problem round this way is that most
the workshops have been flattened and houses put up or are converted into flats, so there is a major shortage, its a nightmare, looking to rent a home
now, but to find one with anything more than a single garage and no parking will cost me 800 a month, got most the bits to get the thing driving now,
just need to put it together.

Garage issue could be sorted although its going to take 6 weeks but i think we have finally found somewhere atlast.......

Chassis in for sandblasting and paint should have it back on friday fingers crossed
got chassis back, if weather holds out till tomorrow the chassis should be sitting on wheels and have a few other jobs done, engine not going back in yet till the fuel/brake and some wiring has been put through the tunnel, photos to follow if weather holds

Just looking thru the thread, what are the front and rear uprights off?

wilwood mustang II front uprights (rally design), rear are cobra mustang IRS like the picture below, comes with discs, calipers, hubs and shafts, but
you do have to use a mustang 8.8 diff, you may be able to get shafts to use a 7.5 sierra/granada diff but you would have to look into that, also you
can get uprated shafts if you need them straight off the shelf.

One issue to be solved is the front caliper mouting brackets but im chasing up about those today
haven't mounted the arches yet but thought i'd see if they fit over the 10J wheels and 285/30 18 fitted to roll it around on, they fit
perfect!!!!!

updates will be up soon, waiting on a few bits from a few places, nothing much we can do till i get the bits. so you'll have to wait.
Right update time lol.
Engine and box back in exhaust problem sorted (1 of them was shorter than the other!!!!!)
Some of the interior pannels done and fuel tank well under way.
Diff now put together and propshaft has arrived from the usa.
Now the problems;
Diff seamed to have too much backlash.
Turns out that i was wrong and its within tollerance i dont mind being wrong maybe im just used to a better fit.
Propshaft is a perfect length shame it was made with the wrong end flange for the diff (diff has a 4.25" bolt circle and i think the flange
measured 3.5" got on to the guy in the usa funny he is called Mark and pointed this out to him and he confessed his mistake and the right flange
is in the post god knows if ill get it on time for the wekend fo fingers crossed.
Thats about it for now i think lol

looks like i may have found a workshop of a sort, well at least a place i can work on car and leave it up on trestles, its the size of a double garage and will be usable for about 2 months, so will have to hit into it for the 2 months and get it at least drivable.
