Built my mg with 250bhp what 15" tyres would be recomended for hill climbs & sprints, i had r888 in mind but they seem to of shot up in price. Jon

Hi

An S2000 midget will be in Sport Libre I reckon, so slicks.

If you're planning on driving it there then R888, GGG compound (you could kill the really soft SG's on the way..)

You have U2U

Hi

Tyre performance is a huge variable to try and put an estimate on but the general consensus seems to be; - If a normal road tyre (MSA 1a list) was doing a 60 second run, a good track day / MSA list 1B tyre (such as a R888) would be a few seconds quicker, going to sprint / hillclimb slicks is going to be a similar step.

IF the car's setup is altered to suit of course.

For slicks the use of Avon's is pretty much the defacto standard - BMTR is one source, probably be worth asking for their advice on compunds and available sizes - but they're expensive..

You have another U2U.
