Jings ! Got SVA date - what bits to buy?
Jumpy Guy - 7/3/09 at 08:23 PM

After six years of mucking about, I finally have an SVA date, on 26th march....

The cars mostly done, drives, electrics work etc

I need to buy the stuff that you don't add until SVA. So, I'm compiling a list of things-

Edging for bonnet
Edging for Triton seats
Edging for from mudguards
Edging for rear wings?? (needed)

What else is usually needed?

As above, the car is complete, these are the things that usually 'fall off' afterwards

And where is the best (quickest delivery) place to buy?

Nut covers ?

Jumpy Guy - 7/3/09 at 08:31 PM

ahh- good one - nut covers...

anyone know how many and of what size?

And i'm not being lazy, i cant check the car myself- its a 80 mile round trip for me to work on the car, so I'm buying as much as possible before i go down next....

Get a good selection , better to get too many than not enough?

Their price for titanfast is very good, just a complete rip off for packaging & delivery to my mind, even though I still bought from them

Alan...

Jumpy Guy - 8/3/09 at 11:53 AM

on the woolies website, and there are dozens of variatons on the rubber trims and edgings- assuming that i'm doing these-

Edging for bonnet
Edging for Triton seats
Edging for from mudguards
Edging for rear wings?? (needed)

which of these sizes are most suitable?

Think thats who I used for my nut cover selection pack about a month back - but it was via ebay.

Vindi_andy - 10/3/09 at 01:03 PM

I bought the multibag from CBS
20 of each size

Jumpy Guy - 10/3/09 at 09:23 PM

All sorted with Tifosi, who are still very much in business.. thanks for the advice so far

no-one got any opinions on the headlights and SVA?

Dangle_kt - 10/3/09 at 10:09 PM

are they the ones from the guy on here who sells the f1 kit car look a like? (cant remember the name sorry)

If so I have read that they have passed an SVA, but that they need some internal work to "kick up" in the normal UK set up - involves rotating something inside I think.

If they aren't from him then I doubt anyone could definativly say either way until the test.

Jumpy Guy - 11/3/09 at 08:13 PM

i then emailed them, and they phoned me back

Pdlewis - 12/3/09 at 08:17 PM

I got my stuff from tifosi very impressed withthe service.

How much of the triton seats need trimming? I have done the top seatbelt holes so far

Jumpy Guy - 13/3/09 at 01:45 PM

I wasnt sure, so i did from waist level, up over the top and down the other side

and the harness holes

Valtra - 13/3/09 at 06:08 PM

I have the high sided seats (a bit of a mistake but he was difficult to contact at the time ) and trimmed all the way round the edge . It took a bit of thumb power to get it on and I left it in place as it actualy looks quite good and saves splinters getting in and out. Most of the rest fell off very quickly

Valtra - 13/3/09 at 06:12 PM

also check for any sharp edges on exhausts or in the footwells / boot area if uncovered
