anyone know what the best way to secure things going down the tranny tunnel is? i cant get in with a drill so was looking to either weld or stick. The wires are going to get threaded thru a series of holes to support them, but im not too sure about the fuel and brake lines.

any ideas gents?

You mean you've not put them in before you secured tunnel panel sides? Very strange? Or is it that you cant get a drill in (probably the point). MK weld some lugs onto one side of the tunnel for this very reason. We added some additional brackets to support them better and achieve 300mm max. (SVA) even though it's not seen! We managed to get in with a small cordless drill too. Then P clipped both the Fuel and the brake lines on opposing sides.

But I bet you thought of this already...

i knew about p clips, just dont know what holds them to the bars! The panels arent one the tunnel yet, as you say the bars themselves stop a drill getting at them anyway. Not sure if thats relevant cos i dont know if stuff gets rivited in...

so does anyone know how p-clips get held to the bars!? im stuck on this one...

The ones i have seen all use self tappers or pop rivets.

How about making little brackets (tiresome job) with a hole in for rivetting or screwing (ooo err), and welding them to the chassis if you cant get a drill in the tunnel.

Just an idea

Or you could use really strong metal glue to stick the brackets in.

as there is no real weight involved or any movement (hopefully)of the pipework how about using the" L" shaped brackets with a hole in and using something like chemical metal adhesive or braze/weld some small bolts to the rail forming studs onto witch you can attatch your p clips
then all you have to do is put on the nut and washer. thats about all i can think of off the top of my head

think im just gonna order some p clips and see what they look like... glue and brackets sounds good though!
