Took my car for what the DVLA call and inspection, some could say a waste of my time for 5 mins, on Monday at Northampton.
They said it would be a few days ,hoped the registration documents would have arrived today.

Been waiting 3 weeks myself for a VIN Number, so I went to Notts in person.
Seems they won't give you the authorisation for a VIN number until they do the inspection, but at least they will it it pre IVA.

There were some discussions that as I needed a VIN number that meant I wanted a Q plate, but I did mention that there should be enough parts to make it year based.

Took 10 weeks for me from SVA pass to receiving a Reg Plate.

Gotta love em.

If its any help, I did my inspection early in the week and I had everthing back by the week end. SO be ready for the dash to get the Number plates.

10 weeks? Beat that with 16 weeks. Any more offers?

ring dvla once a week and ask them where they're upto. Mine was 6 weeks but seemed much longer. BiB came round to me to do the dvla inspection its just a matter of keeping on dvla's back to keep it moving.

Notts DVLA said they would not come out to do inspections. In fact they said no local DVLA comes out to do inspections due to health and saftey.

I was also told that you don't make an appointment for inspection just turn up with the forms filled in (but wouldn't tell me which forms I need to fill in).

Goodness knows why I got this response given that Notts DVLA are supposed to have a good repulation. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day.

Still not got any response to my letter with some questions.
