...because I'm struggling.
So far I've been in there personally, and spoken to someone behind the desk that didn't have a clue (fair enough, can't expect everyone
to know everything). He toddled off to find someone who did, who came back and gave me the V627/1 built up inspection form and (the wrong) V55/4
application for a first tax disk, and said they couldn't give me a vin until I'd filled those in, and they'd done the inspection.
I couldn't be arsed / bottled out of telling him he was wrong to his face, so nodded and smiled and left. I then wrote them a letter explaining
that I was building a kit conversion with a new chassis and need a VIN to be able to IVA it before I can register.
Got a reply this morning, saying exactly the same as last time, that I need to return the forms that I can't complete yet for them to give me a
VIN. On the plus side, at least they sent the right V55 this time.
I thought I'd be saving myself a bit of aggro by asking them for a VIN instead of trying my own, but apparently not. I'm not too sure what
to do now. How do you word a letter saying 'you don't know what you're doing, give me a VIN'?. Or should I just make one up, get
through IVA and then deal with it later?
I made up my own VIN.
Would trust those monkeys. Give them the least amount of work possible.
U2U sent. Rgds, Pewe.
Make up your own VIN, you know it makes sense
I guess I'll make it up then. If they can make things up as they go along I don't see why I can't
