Bit of a query for you all - I've got FIA harnesses on my car, which I'm pretty sure exceed "e" specifications, but according to
the SVA book, I need to be able to prove it. Has anyone gone through SVA with FIA harnesses, and if so, what did you have to do? I've had a good
look around but can't find any info or comparisons of the two standards.

Must be E marked, even though FIA eceed safety of these they wont pass.
See recent post
If you need to prove they exceed E mark specs can you not just get hold of the standards/specs that the FIA ones are made to? If you have the e-mark
spec as a direct comparison this should be enough for the sva man surely?
Ned.
Yes, it's getting hold of these that are the problem though!

The last time i bought an FIA harness (sparco) it came with the spec sheet, could allways contact the manufacturer.
Right, I've reread the rules and it would appear that they will pass, despite not having e or BS marks - in the book it's an either/or
option, either you have an e mark, or you have to fulfil certain criteria (metal parts protected from rust, certain width of straps and so on).
I'm now fairly confident that it should not be an issue.
I can transcribe the excerpt if anyone needs it.

Hi
At my SVA the examiner said they didn't have to be "e" marked, but must be to the same specs, he mentoined the one handed release and a
minimum width of the belts, 49mm i think, he was more interested in the mountings though
