Frustrating or what...
Dave Bailey - 9/7/13 at 11:51 AM

Cheque cashed beginning of last week... Called Swansea who said on the way to the test centre... Called yesterday to Southampton.. No show... But slots available end of next week... Called again today to Southampton and told it will take another two weeks to arrive from Swansea the two weeks plus to get a test date...

Hope he got it wrong... Back on the phone to Swansea I guess....

Perhaps more frustating is no cash in the bank?

Consider yourself lucky, the test centre near Glasgow transferred to Livingston, only it's the same staff only travelling thu on a Friday. It took me 6 weeks to get the test. Another month to re-pass due to a very difficult to track down emissions failure. The DVLA office in Edinburgh is closing and the staff don't know their arse from their elbow. I may get my tax disc this week in time for summer to call a halt.

if it helps, VOSA explained the process as this:

1. Send IVA Forms
2. VOSA received forms and phone you for payment
3. VOSA examine forms and contact if any problems
4. VOSA forward forms to test centre
5. Test centre contact you to arrange test date

When i submitted mine and VOSA phoned for payment, i was told it would be at least two weeks until they even looked at the forms, and only after that will it get passed to the test centre.

NB. I paid by card so you may have inadvertently caused a small delay paying by cheque. Hope you hear from the test centre soon.

Just phoned Swansea and they say it is with the technical department.... They gave me a number and typical it doesn't ring :-(

just ring the main line and ask to speak to technical. they are a public department and are there to answer your questions.

Turns out the lady who processes the applications only works part time... Could not speak to her but was told that they were currently working on applications received on the 19th June... Apparently another week until they get to mine..... Pretty much given up getting a date before mid August.
