I bought my indy last year and there was literally no paper work with it other than a V5 and an mot cert....
should there be anything to say that it has been checked etc or is the V5 all it needs?
I kept a copy of my IVA cert, but the DVLA don't automatically return one to you.
What does the V5 identify the car as? If it's MK something then everything is ok.
Is the V5 correctly displayed as an MK?
If so then it must have been correctly registered, and depending on what age it is, it will have been either simply registered (pre 98), SVA'd
then registered, 98-2009 or IVA'd then registered (post 2009)
(approx dates)
If its listed as something like dutton or an escort then the car is incorrectly registered and will not have been IVA'd/SVA'd
Ah yes the log book states it is an Mk indy and I beleive it was built in 2009
so i guess it was an SVA
from what i have read i think I would not pass the IVA as it seems very strict! theres are a few bits which i think they would have failed it on,
nothing serious, just anal stuff.
cheers

Most cars that have passed an IVA wouldn't pass again without some work...
The difference between SVA & IVA is not as large as you might expect
We were getting cars tested both sides of SVA IVA divide and found little to worry about
While the examiner was writing out my MAC, my car became an sva fail as I changed the steering wheel to one I could get my legs under to drive home
with. Examiner said as much before I started

if it says mk indy on the v5 you have nothing to worry about. cars without iva/sva usually have something like ford escort, mazda mx5 triupth spitfire, vw beetle on the v5
