dash cam discounts on tin top
Mr Whippy - 14/10/15 at 08:13 AM

My car insurance is due shortly for renewal. I have a nice front and rear dash cam now, are there companies who offer discounts for having one fitted? I have no points and over 5 year no claims but if I could get more off that would be a bonus.

Cheers

I suspect any that do will require good quality approved ones, not any old ebay job!

My insurance routine is search on the comparison sites and then cross reference them with the biggest cash back via top cash back. Inc cash back got both my tin tops done for around £360.

I would never go for discounts based on a dashcam, just like I don't ask for discount for having a home alarm - you can guarantee an insurance company will try and wriggle out of paying up if you didn't have it on for some reason.

I believe there are policies which offer you a discount for having some type of GPS fitted to monitor your driving. Not looked at them, but I suspect you have to pay for one of their GPS boxes which defeats the object of the discount. I think they're for new drivers as well.

Hi,
Just to let you know that a number of our insurance schemes do offer discounts for a wide range of in-car cameras. If you would like a quotation then please feel free to drop me a line with some contact details and I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.
