I've been on the road nearly a year now and it's time to cough up for the insurance and tax.
It's that old chestnut, the V11 reminder arrived last week and I've noticed it says "MOT needed".
Has anyone found out the definitive answer to this problem? Who to contact, phone etc?
The V5C log book says first reg 1/5/2015. Car is on a Q plate.
Cheers

I think if you want to tax on line you will need to MOT it,but if you take the V5 to the post office to tax it and show them the date they will tax it without a MOT.
08.45am Ring insurance company.
09.15am Visit local Post Office to tax it. Went through no problem.

Last year, which was the first time that I taxed it after IVA, I went to the post office and signed a declaration that it didn't need an MOT for 3 years then they let me tax it over the counter. When I un-SORNED it last week after winter lay up, I was able to do it on line like any other car, so I assume that the declaration eventually makes it onto the database. Sorry, I cannot remember the reference number of the form.
The bloke in the PO linked in his computer, scanned the bar code on the tax reminder, and said "it's all gone through".
There was however a price increase of £5 between the form being sent out and the 1st May;
or was that his bribe money.
