My engine number on my block has corroded away, therefore i can not retrieve the information for IVA purposes.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what have you done to overcome it? I have lost the V5 from the donor car that the engine came out of, so thats
that out!
I know what years the engine was produced, but visually identifying it etc is going to be an issue.
Thanks
get a replacement v5.
or just put 1342 (the firing order sometimes stamped on the block, or else its casting no.)
but better, give us a few photos, and we can try to read it.

the area on the block has completely rusted away and you can hardly feel the text!
the v5 from the car was a copy as iy came from a mate who later scrapped the car anyway.
the casting number is on the block and "4ag"
quote:so the text maybe there, light shows a lot more than touch... take a photo, clean it with coca-cola and take more photos, then we may be able to read it.
