help... i,ve just noticed my donor vehicle log book is registered disabled in the tax class not plg is there anyway i can change this without going to my local dvla and as i no longer have the donor only the remaining bit.s is this going to cause a problem any suggestions please
I can't really see it being a problem but I don't work for the DVLA.
A definitive answer is only a phone call away, I suggest you phone the DVLA and ask them. That being said, can you believe what they say
one of my sins was sellin cars, the only prob we ever had was you could'nt tax the car at a post office but had to send to the DVLA for it, (disabled is free) to get round it we used to tax the car without the log book at the post office on the form i can't remember the number off at get a new log book that way. That was only taxing the car though, can't see it been a problem for you, a phone call as suggested should clear it up for you.
i.ll get on the phone tommorow then thank,s
i once bought a van on the disabled thingy, i got it taxed at the local VOSA/DVLA place. not a hard thing to sort out! after all, if they wont change it then you cant get a tax disc, and they wouldnt want that to happen...
The car I bought for my daughter was registered as disabled. The only way to change the taxation class was at the time of taxing which had to be done
at the local DVLA office.
When we got the car and registered it in my name I put down the change of class on the form but it came back disabled - can't understand this as
the status has to relate to the owner so you would think it would automaticaly change on ownership. I asked at the post office about taxing it there
but they said all that can be done is change to disabled class at the post office, other way requires trip to the DVLA. Apparently this is so as not
to discriminate against the disabled, although it seems to discriminate against the able bodied to me!
does that mean that you don't have to pay for your tax then?
I'm confused!
I have a manta registered as disabled, but then it's being used as a donor for bits for other mantas. Just wondered what I would have to do to
tax it?!?
I did wonder what would happen if I went tried to tax it whilst registered as disabled class. Someone somewhere (who I didn't want to) would be bound to notice it!
