I'v been fitting a throttle cable today and now I'm not that happy with the "feel" of the throttle pedal.
This is one of the things on the car that has got to feel just right.
At the moment it has a square plate with a rubber anti slip cover but it sort of drags on the sole of my shoe.
That's the problem, now the question.
Does the throttle pedal have to be anti slip?
I found a reference in the manual to the brake, (must be anti slip),
but couldn't find anything for the throttle, or clutch for that matter.
I'm thinking of remaking the pedal with the contactable bit in the form of a groved roller,
so that it rotates a little as it is depressed.
With sharp groves, cut with a parting tool on the lathe, it would be sort of non slip sideways,
but would roll nicely up and down under the ball of my foot.
Thing is, would this be "SVAable"? or should I just tread in a dog doo before I drive it?
Maybe this is just a crap, (sorry), idea.
Your thoughts please.

AFAIK only the brake and clutch pedals have to be non slip

I though it was only the brake that neady to be "grippy".

FWIW, my throttle pedal is plain steel - not exactly shiny, but not rough either. pleasant to use, and the SVA man said nothing. The clutch and
brake pedals use standard Escort rubbers.

My dad's Morris 8 throttle pedal had a little wooden roller like a cotton reel for exactly that reason.
Don't Caterham throttle pedals have a bit of steel tube on the end to make them slide down the sole of your foot smoothly? Yes - found a picture

Paul , the Luego throttle pedal has a semicircular piece of steel 25mmx3mm bent at a raduis of about 75mm attached to the bottom of the throotle pedal . Find it very comfortable to use and always presents a regular shape to sole of foot . Can take photo if you want . Rusty

I'v ditched the rubber grip and changed the angle of the metal plate and it's now loads better.
I think the pivot point should have been back towards my heel more (floor mounted)
as the plate has to slide up the sole of my shoe 50 mm if I floor it.
Think I'll pop this one on the back burner for a while as at least it's now usable.
Perhaps make a roller one when everything else on the car is done. (ROTFL)
