Rear Number Plate how high?
Chaz - 7/4/06 at 11:27 AM

Any regulations on how high or general positioning of the number plate? Only information i can find is that the number plate lighting is sufficient to light the number plate....any more?

there's something about the angle too; needs to be mostly vertical and the material needs some BS approval - those two mean that stick on plates are not allowed especially when on the nose cone of a 7 or similar (not that I am planning to do that, no not me, no way, honest).

AS long as pc plod can see it I wouldn't worry. My front plate on my mini is barely visible and Ive been pulled for being too noisy, but the traffic cops failed to say anything at all about it. And it may have been a show-type sticker/plate that I may have forgotten to remove sometime last year!

There is no specific sizes in construction and use regs. only that it is adequately (sp) illuminated and visible.

Hopefully you are only asking about the mounting height of the number plate for positioning of the light purposes.

For SVA you should not have a number plate on as it hasnt been allocated a mark yet and if you were to present you vehicle with anumber plate it would probably have to be radiussed as with all of the mounting ensemble attaching it to the bodywork it will stand proud of the datum flat surface and will require radiussing.
