Engine Age Verification
2cv - 9/2/07 at 08:03 AM

I have a Ford engine bought on its own. For SVA, I have to produce written evidence of its date of manufacture and I wondered how others have solved this problem.

Thank you for your help.

obtain catalogue from burton power, the ford engine one. in there is a list of the 2 letter engine codes and year.

At SVA, take the catalogue out, open to appropriate page, place your right hand index finger and point to the letter code and say "look here MR SVA man".

sorted.

if your engine has no numnber, then it becomes even more interesting/exciting.

Send a letter to ford technical services detailing the engine number. No one can argue with that. They will reply on ford headed paper within about a week of recieving your requst.

I used this method and was no problems with SVA. I had my Sva at Southampton and they are really fussy.
