Hi all,
I have a racetech centre mount mirror, its the convex style, i understand the edge needs trimming, does anyone have any mini trim i could use for the
job? beer tokens at the ready.
Also i cant see any E marking on it, has anyone passed with one at nottingham,
I will be posting some pre sva pics soon so keep an eye out!
Mike
Most center mirrors on Sevens don't do much due to a combination of roll bars, people etc. I think the wing mirrors are more important. So it might even be a better option just not to fit it for SVA... I don't think its a necessity as long as you pass the field of vision test...
I put my car in for an SVA just over a month ago with a Racetech convex center mirror. It failed because of the edges on it and also the fact that it
wasn't E-marked. A few people on here have however, passed with one fitted. I guess it depends on how lenient the examiner is on the day.
As far as not fitting one is concerned, the examiner said that if there is any rearward visibility at all, then a centre mirror does need to be
present.
Personally I will be fitting a tacky (But round, edged e-marked one) for the retest and will be swapping it for the racetech shortly after.
I didn't think mirrors had to be e-marked if they comply with the minimum sizes and have safe edges etc?
My 80mm X 40mm mirrors were not e-marked, but passed sva ok.
The sva manual says "european marked or characteristics of"
This is probably open to the examiners point of view!

Can I ask where you all got you Centre Racetech Mirrors from please? and how much did you pay for them?
cheers,
Steve.
Mine came from merlin motorsport and cost about £25
Ditto to merlin motor sport, i had to get a extra mounting bracket to allow it to be mounted to the aero screen but top quality service
Mike
just checked Merlin out, and the flat one is about £20 and the convex one is about £30, but then it's another Tenner for delivery!
I think I'll have to wait until Santa is doing the rounds!
Steve
I bought a set of 3 Racetech convex mirrors from MNR last week for £55, no postage, just a nice run out in the car
Edited to say; A tenner for postage ? they weighs about 1/5th of F***-all !
