Digidash and Battery Cut Off Positions ???
Avoneer - 9/7/07 at 10:36 PM

Do these look ok?

I'm sure the digidash is fine projecting from the dash as the edge radius looks ok.

How about the cut off switch?

Cheers,

well it's inside the 147mm (or whatever it is!) radius of the steering wheel, but I think there is a seperate ruling for things contactable by your jnees etc.

Hopefully someone else will be able to correct or elaborate on my statement!

Digi dash looks fine but i don't think Mr sva man will lke the cut off switch were it is
i think it needs to be in a position where it can't be accidently operated whilst driving and although its behind the wheel area i'm sure he won't like it as a sharp projection either
i put mine in the engine bay on the bulkhead panel on this and the previous build

I agree, must be in a position where it cannot be operated from the normal driving position. I put mine under the dash on the passenger side.

Will remove it for SVA then.

Still need another form of security device so will have to fit a discreet toggle switch somewhere.

Not true about reach. Can't you reach your ign key in your tintop?
It can be within the radius of 127mm from the edge of the steering wheel but if you look at the sva manual it is above and to the left and right that is exempt.
Underneath is not good and it would definitely fail scrutineering if you were to race the car as the switch has to be accessible to marshalls.

Not to mention the driver while strapped in...
