SVA in three days....
nib1980 - 4/10/07 at 08:09 PM

Hi all,

I got my SVA on monday afternoon at Notts.
I'm fairly happy with how the car is built to the manual as best I can.

Can someone give me a checklist of things to well check, and take with me please

Many thanks

If you're driving, organise a proper checklist of essential items that are safety critical like wishbone bolts, brake components, steering bits etc, then work through stuff that might fall off.

I checked everything on my car, took it SVA, failed on a few points and only after we were loading car back onto trailer did I notice that I hadn't done up a nut on the nearside wishbone bolt. Even examiner missed it!!!

Just check everything.

Stuff to take will be ALL your tools U section, tape. I took everything I could carry in the van I hired

Oh yeah, you need to take a bit of luck with you too

don't worry about it mate. We all have to do it.

More than likely you will fail on something that you never thought it would fail on. And pass on stuff you were worying about.

Take it in your stride, fail sheet is a list of stuff to do. Sort it, pass. Done. Good luck.

Had a look at the photos, but could not see one that showed the passenger side .....Mine failed the sva on a U bracket on the exhaust....(see pic on left).. and 12 other minor points......mr SVA man is very helpful if you ask in the right way.....and enjoy the day out....
