Passed SVA first time today at Norwich, Helpful chap Les who did the test, allowed a bit of tinkering time with power commander map, setting up speedo
healer and drilling brake bias bar. Very relaxed test would recommend them.
One down side to the day though. Rushed off to DVLA this afternoon to get inspection date etc only to be told my chassis number should be 17 digits
long. It is 14 at the moment, the same as every other MNR on the road Not a big drama but how has every other MNR got through OK? MAC
certificate has the 14 digit number written on it, shouldn't they have picked this up?
Nice one!
VIN No - Just add some 0's on the end.
adrian
Well done
There's no rules to state that a VIN no should be 17 digits long. Ask 'em what they do about Jap imports and other cars with a registered
(but shorter) VIN number...
They're just being lazy arses (it's easier to register a car if its 17 digi long).
It is my understanding it can't be longer than 17 digits.
Rich
a vin should be 17 digits..
anyway its a formal question...
Tks
Well done Stu
Make a note of that power commander map as it'll be my turn soon i hope.
Nice one Stu, what exhaust can did you use in the end ?
Good luck with the DVLA & inspection date
Good work
what did you have to drill the bar for?
Any piccys of it in SVA trim?

congrats - car looks well
did the SVA man not mention the foot pedals - I thought they would have needed some sort of non-stick surface ?
well done on the pass.
stuart
Well done Stu, first time must be a great feeling
did you have to fettle much with the map table? maybe your hummer cat did the trick!
i dropped my paperwork in to dvla today, so hopefuly no issues with my 14 digit vin.
if you have to, maybe add your initials on the end.i've got a stamp set if you need one.

well done
all vins need to be 17 digits
my mnr has 17 as did my old rh2b
very surprised you got through sva without 17. guys down here didnt even start a test on someone without 17
luckily dvla and mot/sva dont talk to each other.................................
well done though. minor point to fix
lucky on the pedal surface and the cat with the sharp edges
and the exhaust leading edges
mine failed on both these so had to make a cover
Stu,
i got my 08 plates today and that was with my 14 digit chassis no. so i would say to them that it's a max of 17,( in a nice way of course )
as i remember my jap import i registered only had 12 i think.
Well done Stu, any chance of a picture of your rear exhaust mount. Not sure about mine ATM, would like to see yours.
Cheers,
Steve
Congrats! Car looks nice. Lucky on a few points, but then Les is pretty laid back if he is the one I am thinking of!
Get yourself up to the Diss meet (East Anglia Kit Cars) next month so we can have a look!
David
Hi David, I have been in contact with Piddy about the meeting. I will be there, just need to sort DVLA.
