Um......I cant see a spigot for the wheel to sit on ?

There's pictures in his post?!?

Good looking job although it would be good to see location spigots on those spacers as clairetoo suggests.

But is a spigot really required?
The alloys on my VW Passat have plastic rings as spacers between the hubs and wheels.
If for argument's sake the wheelbolt holes were all drilled off centre then I would have thought that the leverage that could be applied by the wheel nut tapers would easily crush the plastic and cause the wheel to "run out".
If the spigot was substantial enough to not be deflected then the wheel nuts would only pitch on one part of their taper and bend the studs to suit.
I've actually seen 100mm PCD wheels fitted to 4"PCD hubs using this "feature"

Does that make sense?

So what is actually centralising the wheel?

A spigot is not essantial. The wheel nuts are tapered and therefore centre the wheel as you do them up. The spigot just makes life easier to put the wheel on espstially when its wheel bolts not studs.

as above I left the plastic center inserts of the bluebirds alloys with no issues. Its not like the plastic could even take any real loads

Spigot rings are not designed to take any load, hence they can be made from plastic. The idea is that the wheel is perfectly centred on the hub before the wheel nuts/bolts are tightened.

Taper seats on the bolts/nuts will help to centre the wheel, but will rarely centre it perfectly. If it did manufacturers wouldn't use hub-centric designs.
