The time has finally come to replace my front pad's (both sides have suffered from sticking pistons , so 1 pad on each side is down to about 2mm
)
Problem is - they are about 6 years old (bearing in mind the car was in bit's for 4 years...) , green stuff pads - and I have heard somewhere
that the formula has changed since I bought mine .
But I am perfectly happy with them - are the `new` one's much different , and how do Black stuff pads compare ?
Help.................
ferrodo racing pads seem to be the shiz niz... what brakes do you have?

I had Black stuff in my M16s and i thought they were crap, i used to have Green stuff in my TVR and i thought they were crap, i now have M1144 in my
M16s and am impressed but have only managed 2-300 miles and have broken the car.

go for the 1144's they may be a bit dearer but you wont be diisapointed. m.
green stuff is pants and so are red stuff
Claire,
1144s and Hawk Blacks seem to be popular recommendations.
When I did the zetec conversion, the original pads (and tyres for that matter) simply weren't up to the task. Upgraded to Hawk Blacks and am
happy with the result (Although they do generate a lot of dust)

I've got Yellow stuff in standard Sierra calipers, and they work great.
Stu
I've always been impressed with green stuff, although that may well have been the old compound.
