First post on this board. Talked with a fellow doing a similar build as I ('blade/Miata/IRS/Locost), and he suggested using a Sierra rear diff.
Because of the awkward gearing required by a BEC, I completely argree. However the problem is that the US market never got a Sierra. However we did
get a Merkur XR4ti, which I understand is very similar. Does anyone know the difference? I ask this group only because it seems international in
nature.

XR4Ti comes with open diff and rear drum brakes
3.64:1 for 5 speed cars, 3.36:1 for automatics.
