rear caliper conversion brackets
mookaloid - 26/7/09 at 07:12 PM

bought some lovely disc brake conversion brackets but the Indy uprights are orientated 90 deg differently.

Should I grind the mounts off and reweld or find some different conversion brackets?

The way it fits now (the calipers won't go on this way)

Think you'll find those indy uprights are for drum brakes, only way is to cut them off and weld them back on Not a nice job and one I did myself after welding mine on the wrong way as the holes are slightly offset too.

Cheers

They are indeed for drum brakes but I have drum brake shafts. It should have been easier to bolt on conversion brackets than change the drive shafts but for some reason MK seem to it at 90 deg to everyone else

I can't seem to find any brackets which would fit the MK - maybe I'll call MK tomorrow

I voted to find new mounting brackets but if I was you, I'd cut the mounting brackets and weld them onto the carrier.

I'd go for the third option and ask MK if they'll swap the uprights for disc based ones.
