Wilwood Brake Pads?
coozer - 4/10/09 at 08:45 AM

Now then, I have come to the conclusion that the squeal from my Wilwoods with 1144's is down to them not getting hot enough, therefore not being efficient...

I would like something like Ferodo 25000 to suit my (slow) driving style and I'll keep the Mintex's for any track days I might do..

Any advise??

On what car? For a lightweight car, i would suggest a soft pad (Race or track day pads), but for heavier cars a harder pad???

Trouble is, the harder tha pad, the quicker youl wear down the disc.

When i finally get around to refurbishing the braking system on mine, im going to put soft pads all round. I dont mind changing pads every 6m, as long as the efficiency is there - which it isnt currently.

"No wrestler wanted to go back home and say a long-haired disc jockey had put him down. So from start to finish I got a good hiding. I've broken every bone in my body. I loved it.

Ive got good experience from running Wilwoods 'Poly-A' pads on a lightweight BEC w Dynalite calipers at the front and Powerlite at the rear. Works very well on track, nice bite, works good from cold and are reasonably quiet on the street. I like them better than Ferodo DS2500 that I used before.

i run green stuff pads in my hi-specs, they are very effiective, don't squeal & give you a good feeling threw the brake pedal
