Astra inlet manifold

anyone here changed an inlet manifold on a 52 plate astra?

brother in law has been quoted £760.00 by a local garage to fit a new one. I have a vauxhall service CD and the time allowed to remove and fit a new one is 3.5 hours but i cant get an accurate cost for a new manifold.
i will call vauxhall dealers on monday but does anyone have an idea of the cost of a manifold.

iirc the car is a 1.6 petrol

cheers Paul

Why would someone need to change the inlet manifold?

Ask a few of the Mondeo owners with Duratech engines who have had the inlet break up and damage the engine

Plastic fantastic?

Seems a bit steep. It needs a coolant drop and alternator removal to change it, as well as the TB, but those are the only remotely complicated bits IMHO.

The coolant needs to be dropped because there's a water feed on the manifold.
