Not absolutely sure, but I believe that the Sierra upright has better geometry than the Cortina, I think that the KPI is better. Sure somebody will rush to correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers Ray

Yes on the Sierra upright the KPI can be altered --

depends in what context you mean what's wrong with it, on a sierra nothing wrong at all, on early robin hoods that used the sierra damper again I believe nothing wrong. if you mean on a lococost style 7, the problem is with the placement of the top brackets not giving the correct angle of the upright. hence the use of adjustable mushrooms and the likes of wozshers top wishbones. to be honest I've never measured the angle on a sierra and then compared it with my MK

the main bit i dont understand, is the strut hole to bottom bj hole does not center thru the hub center... so surely when you put the car on lock, it loads up the outer wheel ?
i agree with the fact i can alter the kpi, and scrub angles, with where i put the top joint... its the offset of the hub that worries me more

As Britishtrident said, you can alter the KPI, so with a set of Wozsher wishbones (allowing you to adjust the castor by shimming the w/b fore or aft), it would make the front end of the car about as adjustable as it could ever be.

The only problem to me is the weight - there's no lightweight replacement (that I'm aware of). I'm fairly sure that a few well placed holes and removing some material would be possible, but I'm not going to be the first person to try it and fail at speed...

must admit the MK always handled well but since I fitted wozshers wishbones it feels so much more responsive.

i havent a choice on bones, they will be my own, as its not a book chassis...
just want to only make them the once!!

That being the case use rose joints on the top and bottom that will give you scope to move the top ones back and the bottom one forward to get it perfect.
do a search for wozshers wishbones, I think theres some in the traders for sale section and I've also posted some in the MK section I would also make them camber adjustable
