Where is the cheapest place to get shocks from before the VAT goes up?
I need some 15" open length with spherical bearings.
think you'll be lucky to get anything ordered and paid this week. maybe not...
gaz shocks from rally design looks good value. gaz are also sole supplier on the racing pickups, so if they're good enough for them...
If something is £115.00 now, it will be £117.50 on 1st January.
Personally, not worth rushing a decission for.
VAT reduction last year and increase this year a complete waste of time

If you spend £400 it's going to cost you another tenner, don't get caught up in the hype.
I have Gaz, don`t think too highly of them, think pro shock is considered the best for a tiny bit more.

Don't tell anyone but I think most places kept their prices exactly the same and pocketed the difference.....
just bought 2 rears from protech £75each plus £5 delivery each
the service was good and the chap knew exactly what i was on about and had some good advice
overall excellent
The ebay seller wcg869 is GAZ Shocks, i got a pair from him a while back , i just asked him for a price for the ones i wanted and i was very pleased
with the price, great service and comms too.

I think it depends how bothered you are about setup
If you're not bothered go and see Pro tech
If you are then buy Pro techs through Pro comp, they will sell you the right bits for your car and balance them on their shock dyno (pro tech claim to
do this but don't)
Good setup, I think is an important part of enjoying these types of cars and therefore I think it’s worth spending a little more time and maybe
cash
Basically as above don’t rush it
If you want to spend some money with reduced vat why not get something else expensive that you’re a lot less likely to change e.g:
Aluminium radiator
Aluminium catch tank
Aluminium Header tank
Silencer
Gauges
LSD
Silicone hose........
^^^Amen^^^
I too would recomend protech from Procomp.
You'd be suprised how different shocks can be ou the box.... Ok so u think there all on 3clicks that's fine? Wrong.. One on 3 clicks could
be the same as the other on 5!
Also consider rose jointed ends. Even the best chassis don't line up 100%. and twisting will kill the shocks.
You also need to consider bump ratio... Ect
there are so many factors and it's not an easy thing to set up. I got full shocks and springs custom weighted to my car. Plus corner weighting,
toe in, caster, camber.... It took all day! All for £650 iirc
they guys there know there stuff!
