mi16 caliper mounting dimensions
craig_007 - 11/2/10 at 05:18 PM

I'm wondering if someone could tell me the distance between the 2 mounting holes on the m16 caliper please ?

Also,Would the princess 4 pot caliper likely be the same size ?

Thanks Craig

The Princess caliper is the same, which is why it was commonly used as an "upgrade" on Escorts in the past. The Princess calipers are very heavy though, and provide negligible benefit over a well maintained set of M16 calipers on a car as light as a Locost.

I have a pair of Princess calipers in my workshop, I can try to dig them out and measure the centers if that would help? The only M16's I have are bolted onto my Striker at the moment however

A quick measure of the ones I am about to paint in a few mins when the garage warms up. 83mm

I will agree they are heavy compared to standard cortina calipers,

But they are definatley a better choice, and transformed the braking on my locost,

So IMHO go for the princess calipers, heavy but considrably better
